Get the Most Out of Wealth Intelligence Super Conference
By Jordan Taylor
The conference organizing team has been working hard putting together a dynamic program to help you discover more ways to generate cash flow and build wealth than you ever thought possible. These tips will help you get the maximum benefit from this unprecedented opportunity:
• Plan ahead. Familiarize yourself with the conference schedule, the speakers, and other activities before you arrive. This information is available on the website at www.wiacademy.com/superconference. Select the sessions you want to attend and plot them on your calendar. Then make a list of people you want to meet with and contact them ahead of time to schedule an appointment.
• Allow extra time. At conferences, most things take longer than expected. Allow time for meetings to run late, for the time it takes to walk from point to point in the conference center, and for unexpected events. Also, be sure to allow yourself some “down time” so that you are rested and refreshed for everything you want to do.

• Make a list of all the items you'll need at the conference and check them off as you pack. Remember such items as: cell phone (that you will, of course, remember to turn off during the sessions), charger, laptop with necessary cables and connectors, local access numbers for e-mail, business cards, conference schedule, appointment calendar, airline tickets, hotel confirmation, etc.
• Dress comfortably. Conference days are long, so wear comfortable clothing and shoes. The weather in Florida is unpredictable in February—it could range from cold to balmy to warm. The interior of the conference center is usually cool. Your best strategy is to wear layers.
• Stay for the entire conference. You never know what great information you'll miss if you arrive late or leave early.
• Wear your name badge at all times. Your name badge is your admission to the various conference events and it's also a way for others to get to know you. Be sure it's visible.
• Look at other name badges. The badges include the attendee's hometown. Make a note of where people are from and use that as a conversation-starter—and learn about those markets at the same time.
• Take plenty of business cards. Offer your card to everyone you meet so they know how to contact you after the conference.
• Collect as many business cards as you can. This is a great time to expand your network and maybe even add to your Power Team. When you get a card, discreetly make notes on it so you can remember the person and follow up.
• Don't mix the cards up. Wear something with pockets on both sides. Put your own cards in your right pocket and the cards of others in your left pocket. You'll know that it's safe to give anyone a card from your right pocket—you won't have to look at it to make sure you aren't giving out someone else's card.
• Get to the sessions early and sit up front. You'll get more out of the session when you're up front and can make eye contact with the speaker. Being up front also means you won't be distracted by latecomers and motion in the back of the room.
• Spend plenty of time in the Resource Center . Visit each booth and go back if you need to. Talk to the student advisors. Find out everything you can about the various training and resource opportunities while you have a chance to meet one-on-one with representatives who can answer your questions.
• Have fun. You'll be working hard and learning a lot, but be sure to enjoy yourself in the process.
